On the Road with Michael Hanna: Usability Mapping Took Center Stage at VPPPA Regional Conferences

This May, Michael Hanna hit the road as a featured speaker at three major OSHA VPPPA Regional Conferences, bringing the power of Usability Mapping to the forefront of operational safety conversations across the United States.Throughout the month, Michael shared how usability-focused documentation can drastically reduce human error, increase compliance, and enhance safety outcomes — especially in high-pressure environments where every second counts.

✅ Region IV – May 6

Michael opened the month at Region IV, introducing key principles of Usability Mapping and how they apply to frontline safety systems.

✅ Region I – May 7 in Massachusetts

In Massachusetts, he presented “Usability & the 737 MAX”, diving deep into how cognitive overload and unclear procedures can lead to catastrophic failures — and how usability can prevent them.

✅ Region VI – May 19–22 in Corpus Christi

Michael closed the month in Texas with “Usability is Safety! – UX Engineering Documentation for Users”, a session that emphasized why clear, user-validated documentation is critical to safe operations,

At each conference, Michael connected with safety professionals, engineers, and operational leaders who are committed to building safer systems — not just through rules and compliance, but through tools that actually support people in the real world. We’re grateful to everyone who attended, shared their insights, and helped make these events a success. Want to bring Usability Mapping to your organization or event?

We’d love to talk.
